With hard work, in three years, Barbara’s classes were built up with a waiting list and she was launched into her teaching career. Now, seven years later, numerous newspaper articles have been written about her classes. Barbara continues to paint murals once in a while.
Besides her weekly classes, Barbara teaches workshops on the color wheel, how to achieve mood and how to come up with harmonious color schemes. Barbara’s strengths include an innate feel for color, mood, depth and creativity of which she passes on to her students. She goes the second mile with her students believing in “teaching others what you would want someone to teach you”. She uses very little lecture in her workshops, but “hands on” doing, letting students experience color.
Barbara’s art education was expanded by taking numerous workshops from well known artist around the United States. Barbara is an ongoing student of Dalhart Windberg. “The Artist of Texas” and “In the Path of the Masters” are two biographies written about him. Dalhart was so impressed with Barbara’s skill and teaching status that he made two rare visits to Georgia to teach a week long workshop to her students.
