Born an identical twin in Syracuse, New York, Barbara and Betty were adopted when they were
three years old into a highly educated family. Their father had a PhD and their mother a masters.
They lived in college towns in New York, Virginia, Iowa, Illinois, and Louisiana during their
childhoods and then after Barb graduated from U of I and married she lived in Texas, California and
Georgia. This gave her a firsthand knowledge of the United States, how beautiful and interesting
it was to see the landscapes, towns and farms in so many places.
Barbara's mother told her that her biological family was greatly talented in many of the arts.
Her grandmother and mother were talented in painting and drawing, her paternal grandmother
was a well know seamstress, and her father's cousins were fine art silver molders. Betty,
Barbara's twin sister is a wonderful watercolor artist. It is this gift that Barbara wants to
share with those who would lie to receive it. |
